I carried out a gutter clearout on a residential property today. The customer had got in touch after having a waterfall effect from their guttering. The water was cascading down on their window and patio doors below. After climbing up to have a look, the guttering was filled with moss and debris including bits of slate off the roof. With the use of the fantastic tools from http://progutter.co.uk/ I removed all the debris bit by bit until the guttering was completely empty. Then, onto checking the downpipe. A large piece of slate had dropped into the downpipe opening and was completely blocking the hole. After removing this, I then flushed the downpipe with water, releasing a few more bricks & pieces of moss that were stuck halfway down. One very satisfied customer!
Are your gutters becoming overladen with debris now that the weather is getting worse? Are you noticing water dripping or even cascading from your guttering? Now is the time to get it sorted before even worse weather sets in for winter. If cascading water is left to run over again & again, it will end up damaging bricks and mortar on the outside of your property. In worse cases it can seep through the bricks causing internal damp and mould to form.
If you do have a buildup of debris in your gutters, this can cause an ideal environment for wind blown seeds to grow – this is why you may see weeds or grass sprouting up out of your guttering!!
We also offer a washdown of the upvc of gutters, fascias & soffits too. Please get in touch today if you would like a free no obligation quote
